Health Career Access Program (HCAP) | HCA Paid Training Opportunity

Position Summary

Interior Health is seeking applicants for an exciting opportunity as a Health Care Assistant! If you are interested in an opportunity to provide patient-centred care, this opportunity may be for you!

This is a fully funded training pathway toward becoming a Health Care Assistant through an accredited post-secondary Health Care Assistant program. Not only is the tuition fully funded but you receive a wage while you go to school!

Applicants are hired to start their education in a Health Care Assistant training program at a partnering post-secondary institution. The training program will be delivered over the course of 6-8 months.

Once the program is completed the candidate will apply for their BC Care Aide registration. Upon completion and registration, candidates are expected to complete a paid one year return of service with Interior Health.

Qualfications

• If English is your first language you must have successfully completed of English 10 or equivalency
• If English is not your first language, you must have a valid English competency test completed within the last 2 years, uploaded to your profile and your results must match the requirement of the educational program
• Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Clear Criminal Record Check (from the Ministry)

Please note, applicants must not have completed an HCA training program, hold BCCA registration or be employed as an HCA currently.
