About the position

Duties

Operating at the regional operational level, the Civil Aviation Safety Inspector (CASI) Airworthiness exercises delegated ministerial authority to deliver regulatory surveillance, certification, and services. The incumbent functions as a technical authority in the airworthiness field, ensuring that regional air operators, Approved Maintenance Organizations (AMOs), and manufacturers comply with the Aeronautical Act and the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs).

They must sometimes take rapid, decisive action and must be able to influence stakeholders, facilitate behavior change and support the development of new competencies in regulated industries. Inspectors work in an environment of high stress due to the possible impact of error and real or potential conflict. In the course of ensuring that regulations are respected, inspectors carry significant responsibility and accountability, their decisions have a direct impact on the safety of Canadians.
